facilitator, and lifelong student of what it means to be human in a body.<\/p><p>I\u2019m also a woman from Brooklyn who has lived through some wildly different versions of herself.<\/p><p>Immigration. Bullying. Abuse. Addiction. Survival. Crime. Recovery. Spiritual searching &amp; yoga. Nervous system trauma resolution. Therapy. Shadow work. Embodied movement. Somatics. And, eventually, a whole different relationship with my body and myself.<\/p><p>For nearly 20 years, I\u2019ve been living this work in my own body, and for the past seven years, I\u2019ve been walking alongside others, primarily women and femmes, in individual and group spaces.<\/p><p>My work began with yoga and embodied movement and has evolved into an integrative somatic approach that brings together the mind-body connection, coaching, nervous system science, relational attunement, therapeutic movement, spirituality, feminist and systemic perspectives, and our relationship with our soma, the living body, and the Earth.<\/p><p>I don\u2019t believe we can understand the body outside of the world that shaped it. Our bodies are shaped by relationships, ancestors, family, culture, power, patriarchy and other systems, institutions, and the environments we inhabit. So coming back to yourself isn\u2019t only personal work. It\u2019s collective. It can also be a practice of reclaiming agency, aliveness, choosing what you participate in, and creating different ways of being in relationship with yourself, each other, and the world.<\/p><p>This work is deeply personal to me. It isn\u2019t something I learned and then decided to share.<\/p><p>I know what it means to survive by adapting and self-abandoning. To over-function, disconnect, shape-shift, suppress what you feel, lose touch with what you need, and become very good at being whoever or whatever the moment seems to require. I\u2019ve been the Good Girl. I\u2019ve been a fucking mess. I\u2019ve been deeply disconnected from myself. I\u2019ve tried all kinds of ways of becoming okay.<\/p><p>And somewhere along the way, I discovered that transformation wasn\u2019t about becoming a better, more healed, more acceptable version of myself. It was about coming back into relationship with myself. With my body. My needs. My desires. My empowered choice. My truth. My spirit. My aliveness. With the world around me and towards a meaningful life that supports all life.<\/p><p>That became the foundation of Spiritual Bish.<\/p><p>Today, I create spaces where you can develop a deeper relationship with yourself and attunement to the wisdom of your soma, get curious about the intelligence of your protective patterns, and cultivate more self-trust, agency, desire, connection, pleasure, self-expression, and aliveness.<\/p><p>I don\u2019t believe we\u2019re broken humans who need to be fixed. I believe we\u2019re living beings shaped by our histories, our relationships, our cultures, our systems, and the worlds we\u2019re part of. The one who is easy to love, reads the room, doesn\u2019t need too much, want too much, feel too much, or make too much trouble. Maybe you learned to over-function, please, perform, control, achieve, disconnect, stay small, silent, or useful.<\/p><p>And maybe you became really good at doing the work. You\u2019ve read the books, spent years in therapy, learned your patterns, triggers, strategies, attachment style. You understand where it all comes from. You can recite your whole story perfectly, and still find yourself stuck in the same patterns, wondering why all that insight hasn\u2019t changed everything.<\/p><p>Because our patterns don\u2019t live only in our thoughts or our stories. They are also shaped through learning and conditioning in the nervous system and deeper, subcortical processes. They live in the ways your body has learned to perceive, predict, move, protect, connect, withdraw, mobilize, and react.<\/p><p>Your nervous system adapted and is doing what it learned to do: help you stay safe, connected, belonging, and alive. Many of the patterns we struggle with are not signs that something is wrong with you. <strong>They are intelligent adaptations shaped through lived experience.<\/strong><\/p><p>The problem is that these responses can happen automatically and outside conscious awareness. Somatic work creates space to slow things down, notice what is happening in real time, and become more <strong>attuned<\/strong> to your body\u2019s signals, needs, impulses, and protective responses. From that place, we can begin to reclaim <strong>agency<\/strong>, not by controlling ourselves better, but by creating more space between an automatic response and what we choose next.<\/p><p>A somatic nervous system approach views transformation differently. Not only through insight, changing beliefs, or shifting mindset, but through the whole living body: emotion, sensation, nervous system patterns, subconcious imagery, movement, gesture, posture, sound, rhythm, expression, relational stances, inner narratives, and present-moment felt experience. It is about befriending the patterns that developed to protect you, understanding what they are responding to, and creating the conditions for something new to become possible.<\/p><p>Embodied transformation isn\u2019t about becoming perfectly regulated, calm, perfect, or endlessly productive. It\u2019s about having more <strong>agency, voice, and choice<\/strong>. More attunement to the wisdom of your body. More capacity to be <strong>ALIVE<\/strong> and to feel, rest, express, connect, receive, protect, set flexible boundaries, and move toward what you actually need and desire in more, override our needs and desires, endure inhumanity, and stay functional through increasing distress, uncertainty, conflict, disconnection, and collective crisis.<\/p><p>Our bodies don&#8217;t experience these things in isolation. And it&#8217;s not an individual failure.<\/p><p>We are shaped by our relationships, families, ancestors, dominant culture, communities, systems, institutions, and the living environments we belong to. Patriarchy, capitalism, racism, inequality, ecological crisis, political instability, overstimulation, and chronic stress aren&#8217;t abstract ideas. They shape us, and they are embodied.<\/p><p>So when you experience anxiety, powerlessness, numbness, overthinking, burnout, people-pleasing, shutdown, or disconnection, I don&#8217;t start with:<\/p><p><em>What&#8217;s wrong with you? <\/em>I start with:<strong>What is your body responding to?<\/strong><\/p><p>Some patterns belong to your history. Some belong to what is happening right now. Some are both. Somatic nervous system work creates space to listen, feel, discern, and respond rather than automatically react or override ourselves.<\/p><p>Not so we can become the best version of ourselves, or get better at tolerating what harms us. But so we can begin to attune to ourselves and recognize what our bodymind and its patterns are asking for: softness, protection, a boundary, a truth expressed, a movement or voice, something that needs to be seen and felt, metabolized and integrated, or simply more time to slow down.<\/p><p>So we can become more available to our needs and desires, recognize where our agency is needed, and discern what moves us toward greater aliveness.<\/p><p>We are not separate from the world around us. We are living beings, embedded in relationship with one another, the land, nature, and the more-than-human world.<\/p><p><strong>Returning to the wisdom of the soma, the living bodymind, is also Hi, I&#8217;m Olga Spiritual Bish I\u2019m a trauma-trained somatic coach, embodiment practitioner, therapeutic yoga facilitator, and lifelong student of what it means to be human in a body. I\u2019m also a woman from Brooklyn who has lived through some wildly different versions of herself. Immigration. Bullying. Abuse. Addiction. Survival. Crime. Recovery. Spiritual searching &amp; yoga. Nervous system trauma resolution. Therapy. Shadow work. Embodied movement. Somatics. And, eventually, a whole different relationship with my body and myself. For nearly 20 years, I\u2019ve been living this work in my own body, and for the past seven years, I\u2019ve been walking alongside others, primarily women and femmes, in individual and group spaces. My work began with yoga and embodied movement and has evolved into an integrative somatic approach that brings together the mind-body connection, coaching, nervous system science, relational attunement, therapeutic movement, spirituality, feminist and systemic perspectives, and our relationship with our soma, the living body, and the Earth. I don\u2019t believe we can understand the body outside of the world that shaped it. Our bodies are shaped by relationships, ancestors, family, culture, power, patriarchy and other systems, institutions, and the environments we inhabit. So coming back to yourself isn\u2019t only personal work. It\u2019s collective. It can also be a practice of reclaiming agency, aliveness, choosing what you participate in, and creating different ways of being in relationship with yourself, each other, and the world. This work is deeply personal to me. It isn\u2019t something I learned and then decided to share. I know what it means to survive by adapting and self-abandoning. To over-function, disconnect, shape-shift, suppress what you feel, lose touch with what you need, and become very good at being whoever or whatever the moment seems to require. I\u2019ve been the Good Girl. I\u2019ve been a fucking mess. I\u2019ve been deeply disconnected from myself. I\u2019ve tried all kinds of ways of becoming okay. And somewhere along the way, I discovered that transformation wasn\u2019t about becoming a better, more healed, more acceptable version of myself. It was about coming back into relationship with myself. With my body. My needs. My desires. My empowered choice. My truth. My spirit. My aliveness. With the world around me and towards a meaningful life that supports all life. That became the foundation of Spiritual Bish. Today, I create spaces where you can develop a deeper relationship with yourself and attunement to the wisdom of your soma, get curious about the intelligence of your protective patterns, and cultivate more self-trust, agency, desire, connection, pleasure, self-expression, and aliveness. Because our patterns don\u2019t live only in our thoughts or our stories. They are also shaped through learning and conditioning in the nervous system and deeper, subcortical processes. They live in the ways your body has learned to perceive, predict, move, protect, connect, withdraw, mobilize, and react. Your nervous system adapted and is doing what it learned to do: help you stay safe, connected, belonging, and alive. Many of the patterns we struggle with are not signs that something is wrong with you. They are intelligent adaptations shaped through lived experience. The problem is that these responses can happen automatically and outside conscious awareness. Somatic work creates space to slow things down, notice what is happening in real time, and become more attuned to your body\u2019s signals, needs, impulses, and protective responses. From that place, we can begin to reclaim agency, not by controlling ourselves better, but by creating more space between an automatic response and what we choose next. A somatic nervous system approach views transformation differently. Not only through insight, changing beliefs, or shifting mindset, but through the whole living body: emotion, sensation, nervous system patterns, subconcious imagery, movement, gesture, posture, sound, rhythm, expression, relational stances, inner narratives, and present-moment felt experience. It is about befriending the patterns that developed to protect you, understanding what they are responding to, and creating the conditions for something new to become possible.
